How to travel by public transport in Budapest

Budapest is quite good in terms of transport: it is easy to get around the city centre and important sights by tram, bus or metro. Stations are usually signposted in English, and the BKK (Budapest Transport Centre) BKK FUTÁR app is also very useful.


You can also use Google Maps to see transport options. For tourists, I usually offer 3 types of tickets:

BUDAPEST CARD ALL-IN: 24-48-72-96 hours

It entitles you not only to transport, but also to admission to museum, restaurant, spa or discounts.



BUDAPEST CARD (TRANSPORT ONLY): 24 or 72 hours

Allows you to use all means of transport.


GROUP TICKET: 24 HOURS ONLY

Suitable for 5 people travelling together.
